Bohol
Panglao Island is situated on the south eastern tip of Bohol and is an increasingly popular destination in The Philippines. The house reef is directly in front of Alona Beach. It slopes down to 20m and is good for training, orientation and night dives. There are many varieties of soft and hard corals and schools of lip fish, butterfly fish and doctor fish can be spotted. Within a short 40 minutes journey are a number of very known dive sites, in particular Balicasag and Pamilican.
Balicasag island feautures a wall to 40m. Black Forest with giant black corals and Diver's Heaven with schooling jack fish and barracudas, turtles, sponges, anemones, soft and hard corals make this site a must dive. Pamilacan island is excellent for drift dives and can have strong currents with a good chance to see manta and whale shark. There is also a large coral garden at approx. 20m.
